Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Thanks to events like the Standup for the Cure and Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
The Komen Orange County Affiliate is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public chairty that operates under the charter of the international organization headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Tax ID number: 33-0487943.
1 in 8 women are touched by breast cancer and early detection is critical. Digital mammograms can detect breast cancer even at the earliest stage zero and effective treatment can be given.
